Cantek Program – FREE IT Training & Job Search Assistance for Newcomers!!!

Futuretek, a tech recruitment company, is running a new program that is FREE called Cantek. The program is for newcomers with a computer/tech background to get them trained in tech/IT for a Canadian tech/IT job! Cantek is a 5-week in person IT training program offering Web Development, Data Analytics and Cloud Computing classes. After the program (5 weeks of classes) is completed, Futuretek will connect students to full-time paid employment***.

Classes are in person from Monday to Friday at 164 Eglinton Ave East Suite 301, Toronto ON M4P 1A6. There are two time slots for classes, mornings from 9am to 1pm and afternoons from 2pm to 6pm.

REQUIREMENTS: 

- Good knowledge of English (can read, write, listen, and speak effectively), if taken the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) test, a minimum score of 6 is required 

- Existing IT knowledge/experience: Educational background with a Computer Science degree or any post secondary computer degree AND/OR minimum 1 to 2 years of paid work experience within the past two years in a relevant IT field

Individuals with the following statuses are ELIGIBLE:

❖ Permanent Resident (PR)

❖ Refugee claimant

❖ Protected persons

❖ Visitors under the Emergencies Act (Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET))

❖ Naturalized Canadian citizen (born outside of Canada)

❖ Open work permit

NOT Eligible:

❖ Canadian Citizens (born in Canada)

❖ Temporary Foreign Workers

❖ International Students

Start dates for Web Development and Data Analytics: 

● Dec 11, 2023 to Jan 19, 2024 (closed Dec 25 to Jan 1 for holidays) 

● Jan 22 to Feb 23, 2024 

● Feb 26 to Mar 29, 2024 

Start dates for Cloud Computing: 

● Nov 20 to Dec 22, 2023 

● Jan 2 to Feb 2, 2024 

● Feb 5 to Mar 8, 2024

Some people get hired immediately, some in a few days, and some in a few months but Futuretek will work with you to connect you with an employer to get you a paid job in tech/IT if you complete the program.***
