IN MEMORIAM: Raisa Lishchyna (UPDATED)

Raisa Lishchyna fell asleep in the Lord on Oct. 20, 2023. She was a member for many years at St. Volodymyr Cathedral, a member of the church choir and an active volunteer in the parish.

May her memory be eternal! Вічна їй пам’ять. Царство небесне!

LISHCHYNA, RAISA (nee SHAPKA) 1936 - 2023 Peacefully, on October 20, 2023, at home, at the age of 87. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Leonid. Loving mother of Victor (Ola), Taras (Natalia) and Svitlana (Stephan). Beloved daughter of the late Harasym and Ulana Shapka. Sister of Valentina Kit, and the late Lidia Kiziuk and George Shapka. Sister-in-law of Zena Ezechiels (Fred). She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her grandchildren, Adriana, Tianna, Alexandra, Andrew, Stephania and Christina; and by all her nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

Resting at the Newediuk Funeral Home, Kipling Chapel, 2058 Kipling Avenue (North of Rexdale Boulevard), on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 3-5 and 6-9 p.m., with Panachyda at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral Service on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at All Saints of Ukraine Chapel, 1280 Dundas St. W., Oakville.

Interment to follow at St. Volodymyr Cemetery, Oakville.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Canada-Ukraine Foundation or Ukrainian Canadian Youth Association ODUM would be greatly appreciated.
