FILM: Music of Survival + Live-Performance by Director

Wed. May 3/2023 — 7pm | Grimsby Museum

Orest Sushko (Cathedral choir member who is an Emmy Award-winning sound re-mixer) will be donating one of his family’s bandury to the Grimsby Museum. In order to furnish the community further context about the instrument and Ukraine’s history, Orest will be screening the documentary film he produced and directed - Music of Survival (which was premiered at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival). Orest will be playing a song on his Dido’s bandura, accompanying his sister, Oksana (choir conductor of St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Hamilton), who will be singing.
