1. The Archangel Gabriel announced to her three days before that the time of her approaching departure into eternity. In pledge of this, the Archangel gave Her a palm branch from Heaven.

2. She prayed fervently to be delivered from the evil spirits, and the Lord heard her prayer, coming to receive her soul.

3. She wanted to bid farewell to the Apostles, and Christ gathered them from the ends of the earth, except for St. Thomas.

4. She was buried in the Garden of Gethsemane, in the place she herself chose.

5. The Apostles opened her tomb after three days so that St. Thomas could also bid farewell, but they saw that the grave was empty.

6. The Mother of God appeared to them, telling them that her Son had exalted her body to Heaven and is sitting near His Throne.
