Final Thoughts on Parish Discussions about the Calendar Change
Thank you to everyone who attended the various conversations held at both the Cathedral and Chapel over the last month! Each one of your voices matters. Each individual of this parish counts! So thank you for participating.
As we have mentioned before: this is a complex decision and very emotional for many of us. We want to encourage you to continue discussing this question with those parishioners around you: listen to what others have to say. While many were in favour of changing, those who are not comfortable with changing have an equally valid opinion. Please do not estrange each other if someone else has a different opinion. As we said before, unity is what counts. Each voice matters.

Only saints days and other major feasts like the Nativity of Christ change.
The Next Step
Frs. Jaroslaw and Vasyl, together with the parish council president, pan Greg Blysniuk, are summarizing the discussions had and will be submit this report to His Eminence, Metropolitan Ilarion. Just a reminder that the Metropolitan requested the information by Oct. 1st from all parishes across Canada and will then give his decision by Dec. 1st.
We ask that you keep his Eminance in your prayers so that the decision made may be for the spiritual benefit of us all.

Дякуємо всім, хто був присутній на різноманітних бесідах, що проводилися як у Соборі, так і в Каплиці протягом останнього місяця! Кожен ваш голос має значення. Кожна особа цієї парафії має значення! Тож дякую за участь.
Як ми вже згадували раніше: це складне рішення, яке дуже емоційне для багатьох із нас. Ми хочемо заохотити вас продовжувати обговорювати це питання з парафіянами навколо вас: послухайте, що скажуть інші. Незважаючи на те, що багато хто виступав за зміни, ті, кому зміни не подобаються, мають таку ж справедливу думку. Будь ласка, не відчужуйте один одного, якщо хтось має іншу думку. Як ми вже говорили раніше, єдність – це те, що має значення. Кожен голос має значення.
Нагадуємо, що зміна календаря в Україні НЕ змінює Великий піст, Пасху, Вознесіння чи П’ятидесятницю (вони обчислюються незалежно від календаря). Змінюються лише дні святих та інші великі свята, такі як Різдво Христове.
Наступний крок
о. Ярослав і Василь разом з головою парафіяльної ради паном Григорієм Близнюком підбивають підсумки проведених дискусій і подадуть цей звіт Його Високопреосвященству Митрополиту Іларіону. Просто нагадаю, що митрополит запросив інформацію до 1 жовтня від усіх парафій по всій Канаді, а потім оголосить своє рішення до 1 грудня.
Просимо Вас тримати Його Преосвященство у своїх молитвах, щоб прийняте рішення було на духовну користь усіх нас.
