Mother’s Day Activity for Children

In the Orthodox tradition, mothers are honored on the Great Feast of the Presentation or Meeting of Our Lord in the Temple, celebrated on February 15. However, in the secular tradition, and especially in Canada and the United States, Mother’s Day is celebrated in May, and many Sunday Schools prepare a special project honouring mothers for that day. The website Orthodox Pebbles has designed a printable packet with activities for the occasion, focusing on the greatest Mother of all: the Theotokos
