Two New Icons Are Blessed (Cathedral) • Освятили нові ікони
On Sunday Jul. 21, 2024, two newly-completed icons were blessed into use at the Cathedral by Fr. Vasyl Kobrii after the Divine Liturgy. Both icons were commissioned by sisters Marta and Lily Kornijenko (and their families) from our parish in memory of their parents. Written by Oleksiy Mezentsev, the first icon is of Holy Pentecost (50 days after Pascha) and the second icon is the Meeting (Presentation) of the Lord (Feb. 2).
About the Icon Project
With these two new icons there will be six completed of the 17 planned to be completed by the 100th anniversary celebrations of the parish in 2026!
We encourage you to sponsor an icon and endow our beautiful St. Volodymyr Cathedral of Toronto with handwritten icons in celebration of the 2026 centenary of the parish.
