Recent Safety Concern at SVCC Resolved

After 7 months of worries that any arising emergency at the St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre could become a serious issue, the board can now breathe easily knowing it has been resolved with the installation of a new fire hydrant on the property.

As seen in the picture, the new and fully functional fire hydrant is replacing the fire well on the property. This now means that the 'old well’ by the pond, that served as a water source for fire emergencies, is no longer a concern for maintenance and is now obsolete. The removal of this well is also no longer a risk to the Cultural Centre or Chapel.

The Oakville Fire Marshal has been notified to begin their process of documenting the new emergency fire access for the property and will identify the fire route lanes around the facilities towards the hydrant.

Thank you to the board and staff at SVCC for addressing this pressing issue.
