RECIPE: Vegan Hot Chocolate

With snowy and chilly temperatures ahead, the urge to drink something festive and warm is strong! With the decadent eggnog likely off the menu (being spiked and full of creamy dairy), hot chocolate, hot apple cider and mulled wine (wine being allowed on Tuesdays, Thursdays (avoiding the fasting days of Wednesday and Friday), Saturdays and Sundays) are some excellent options.

Vegan Hot Chocolate - there are many recipes but essentially you want to start with a cocoa powder that doesn’t contained powdered milk, and a plant-based milk (oat, almond, coconut etc). Camino offers two options for vegan hot chocolate powder, as does Castle Kitchen (both available on Amazon).

Hot Apple Cider - don’t forget all you need is to just throw it into a crock pot with some whole cloves, an orange peel, a cinnamon stick (or powder) and let it simmer away!
