President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with a delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate: Metropolitan of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada, Archbishop Ilarion of Winnipeg, Metropolitan Job of Pisidia, Patriarchal Deacon Epiphanius and the Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Ukraine, Bishop Michael. 

The Head of State thanked the representatives of the Orthodox Church of Constantinople and His All-Holiness Bartholomew for their prayers for Ukraine and Ukrainians.

The President noted that the state is doing everything possible to overcome the challenges facing the Church in Ukraine.

“It is clear that these are not overnight challenges, and they have not appeared today. For our part, we will do everything to ensure that there is true stability and peace in this area as well. This is extremely important for us,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy added.

Representatives of the Ecumenical Patriarchate assured that the Church and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will continue praying for Ukraine and supporting it.

“For just peace to prevail in the Ukrainian land. And for peace to prevail also in Ukrainian Orthodoxy. Our mission here is to reaffirm our love and support. And that we are together with you, that we will cooperate in all these issues for the benefit of the Ukrainian people,” Archbishop Ilarion said.

The President recalled that Ukraine is looking forward to the visit of His All-Holiness and stressed that it is of great importance for our country.

Президент України Володимир Зеленський провів зустріч із делегацією Вселенського Патріархату: митрополитом Української православної церкви Канади, архієпископом Вінніпезьким Іларіоном, митрополитом Пісідійським Іовом, патріаршим дияконом Епіфанієм та екзархом Вселенського Патріарха в Україні єпископом Михаїлом. 

Глава держави подякував представникам Константинопольської православної церкви та його Всесвятості Варфоломію за молитви за Україну та українців. 

Президент зазначив, що держава робить усе можливе для подолання викликів, які постали перед церквою в Україні. 

«Зрозуміло, що це виклики не одноденні й не сьогодні вони з'явилися. Ми зі свого боку будемо робити все, щоб у цьому напрямі справді також була стабільність і був мир. Для нас це дуже важливо», – додав Володимир Зеленський. 

Представники Вселенського Патріархату запевнили, що Церква та Вселенський Патріарх Варфоломій і надалі молитимуться за Україну та підтримуватимуть її. 

«Щоб на українській землі запанував справедливий мир. І щоб також запанував мир і в українському православ’ї. Наша місія тут – засвідчити любов і підтримку. І що ми разом із вами, що ми будемо співпрацювати в усіх цих питаннях для добра українського народу», – сказав архієпископ Іларіон.

Президент нагадав, що в Україні очікують на візит Його Всесвятості, та наголосив, що це дуже важливо для нашої держави.
