Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost

Epistle reading from The Second Epistle [letter] of Saint Paul the Apostle to Corinthians 9:2-12
1Co 9:2
If to others I am not an apostle, at least I am to you, for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.
1Co 9:3
This is my defense to those who would examine me.
1Co 9:4
Do we not have the right to eat and drink?
1Co 9:5
Do we not have the right to take along a believing wife, as do the other apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas?
1Co 9:6
Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no right to refrain from working for a living?
1Co 9:7
Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard without eating any of its fruit? Or who tends a flock without getting some of the milk?
1Co 9:8
Do I say these things on human authority? Does not the Law say the same?
1Co 9:9
For it is written in the Law of Moses, "You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain." Is it for oxen that God is concerned?
1Co 9:10
Does he not speak entirely for our sake? It was written for our sake, because the plowman should plow in hope and the thresher thresh in hope of sharing in the crop.
1Co 9:11
If we have sown spiritual things among you, is it too much if we reap material things from you?
1Co 9:12
If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we even more? Nevertheless, we have not made use of this right, but we endure anything rather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.

and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient even unto death, yea, the death of the cross.
Php 2:9
Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name;
Php 2:10
that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth,
Php 2:11
and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Коли я не апостол для інших, то для вас я апостол, ви бо печать мого апостольства в Господі.

Оце оборона моя перед тими, хто судить мене.

Чи ми права не маємо їсти та пити?
1Кор 9:5
Чи ми права не маємо водити з собою сестру, дружину, як і інші апостоли, і Господні брати, і Кифа?

Хіба я один і Варнава не маємо права, щоб не працювати?
1Кор 9:7
Хто коштом своїм коли служить у війську? Або хто виноградника садить, і не їсть з його плоду? Або хто отару пасе, і не їсть молока від отари?
1Кор 9:8
Чи я тільки по-людському це говорю? Хіба ж і Закон не говорить цього?
1Кор 9:9
Бо в Законі Мойсеєвім писано: Не в'яжи рота волові, що молотить. Хіба за волів Бог турбується?
1Кор 9:10
Чи говорить Він зовсім для нас? Для нас, бо написано, що з надією мусить орати орач, а молотник молотити з надією мати частку в своїм сподіванні.

Коли ми сіяли вам духовне, чи ж велика то річ, як пожнемо ми ваше тілесне?
1Кор 9:12
Як право на вас мають інші, то тим більше ми. Але ми не вжили цього права, та все терпимо, аби перешкоди якої Христовій Євангелії ми не вчинили.

але Він умалив Самого Себе, прийнявши вигляд раба, ставши подібним до людини; і подобою ставши, як людина,

Він упокорив Себе, бувши слухняний аж до смерти, і то смерти хресної...

Тому й Бог повищив Його, та дав Йому Ім'я, що вище над кожне ім'я,

Mat 18:23
Therefore the kingdom of Heaven has been compared to a certain king who desired to make an accounting with his servants.
Mat 18:24
And when he had begun to count, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents.
Mat 18:25
But as he had nothing to pay, his lord commanded that he, and his wife and children, and all that he had, be sold, and payment be made.
Mat 18:26
Then the servant fell down and worshiped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me and I will pay you all.
Mat 18:27
Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion and released him and forgave him the debt.
Mat 18:28
But the same servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. And he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me what you owe.
Mat 18:29
And his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, Have patience with me and I will pay you all.
Mat 18:30
And he would not, but went and cast him into prison until he should pay the debt.
Mat 18:31
So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were very sorry. And they came and told their lord all that was done.
Mat 18:32
Then his lord, after he had called him, said to him, O wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt because you begged me.
Mat 18:33
Should you not also have pitied your fellow servant, even as I had pity on you?
Mat 18:34
And his lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors until he should pay all that was due to him.

So likewise shall My heavenly Father do also to you, unless each one of you from your hearts forgive his brother their trespasses.

And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word.

But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she came to Him and said, Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.

And Jesus answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things.
Luk 10:42
But one thing is needful, and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
Luk 11:27
And it happened as He spoke these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice and said to Him, Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which You have sucked.
Luk 11:28
But He said, No; rather, blessed are they who hear the Word of God and keep it.

Сказав Господь притчу оцю: Царство Небесне прирівняти можна до Царя, що захотів посчитатися з слугами своїми.

Коли ж почав він считатися, то привели до нього одного, що був йому винен десять тисяч талантів.
Мт 18:25
А як він не мав чим заплатити, то господар його звелів продати його й жінку його й дітей, і все, що він мав, і заплатити.

Тоді слуга той впав і клянявся йому, кажучи: Господарю! Потерпи мені, і все тобі віддам.
Мт 18:27
Змилосердився ж господар над тим слугою, відпустив його й простив йому довг.
Мт 18:28
Як вийшов же той слуга, стрів одного з товаришів своїх, що винен був йому сто динаріїв, і він схопив його й душив, кажучи: віддай мені, що винен.
Мт 18:29
Упав тоді товариши його в ноги йому й благав його, кажучи: Потерпи мені, і все тобі віддам.
Мт 18:30
Він же не схотів, а пішов та й посадив його в темницю, аж поки віддасть довг.

Товариші його, бачивши, що сталось, дуже жалкували, пішли й розказали господареві свому все, що сталось.
Мт 18:32
Тоді господар призвав його та й каже йому: Рабе лукавий! Увесь той довг я простив тобі, бо ти ублагав мене.
Мт 18:33
Чи не повинно ж було й тобі змилуватись над товаришем твоїм, як і я над тобою змилувавсь?
Мт 18:34
І прогнівавсь господар його й віддав його мучителям, аж поки верне йому ввесь довг свій.
Мт 18:35
Так і Отець Мій Небесний учинить з вами, коли хто з вас од серця не простить братові своєму провин його.

І сталось, коли вони йшли, Він прийшов до одного села. Одна ж жінка, Марта їй на ім'я, прийняла Його в дім свій.

Була ж в неї сестра, що звалась Марія; вона сіла в ногах у Ісуса, та й слухала слова Його.
Лк 10:40
А Марта великою послугою клопоталась, а спинившись, сказала: Господи, чи байдуже Тобі, що на мене саму полишила служити сестра моя? Скажи ж їй, щоб мені помогла.
Лк 10:41
Господь же промовив у відповідь їй: Марто, Марто, турбуєшся й журишся ти про багато чого,
Лк 10:42
а потрібне одне. Марія ж обрала найкращу частку, яка не відбереться від неї...
Лк 11:27
І сталось, як Він це говорив, одна жінка з народу свій голос піднесла й сказала до Нього: Блаженна утроба, що носила Тебе, і груди, що Ти ссав їх!
Лк 11:28
А Він відказав: Так. Блаженні ж і ті, хто слухає Божого Слова і його береже!
