A Concert Success & Thank You

On May 1, 2022, a fundraising concert was held at the St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre in Oakville. The objective of the concert organizers, Vera Melnyk and Tamara Koszarny, was to raise funds to support the efforts of the National Guard, Battalion no. 321 located in the city of Dnipro at the behest of their Chaplin, Otets Oleksander Pidhorny. 

The Battalion’s major request had been to acquire a vehicle and supplies in support of their defense efforts of Ukraine. Moreover, funds were to be allotted to a Bandurist in Lutsk (Valentyna Pylypchuk) and Doctors in Kharkiv. The fundraising efforts were greatly successful, raising $22,360.

Our sincerest thanks go out to the Canadian Bandurist Capella for headlining this event as well as other participants, folk singer Vera Osadcha (Kharkiv), and singers Ihor and Andreana Artymyak. Major sponsors included St. Volodymyr Cathedral of Toronto, St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre in Oakville, Walter and Gloria Chewchuk, Mrs. Rosalia Sametz, Mrs. Valentyna Blysniuk, Mr. and Mrs. Chaikowsky and Borys Chartchenko and family.

It was a please to host and have the participation of Bishop Andriy and Bishop Brian.
