From The Old Testament - The Second book of Moses [called] Exodus 33:11-23

Exo 33:11

Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses turned again into the camp, his assistant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.

Exo 33:12

Moses said to the LORD, "See, You say to me, 'Bring up this people,' but You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, 'I know you by name, and you have also found favour in My sight.'

Exo 33:13

Now therefore, if I have found favor in Your sight, please show me now Your ways, that I may know You in order to find favor in Your sight. Consider too that this nation is Your people."

Exo 33:14

And He said, "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."

Exo 33:15

And he said to Him, "If Your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here.

Exo 33:16

For how shall it be known that I have found favour in Your sight, I and Your people? Is it not in Your going with us, so that we are distinct, I and Your people, from every other people on the face of the earth?"

Exo 33:17

And the LORD said to Moses, "This very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favour in My sight, and I know you by name."

Exo 33:18

Moses said, "Please show me Your glory."

Exo 33:19

And He said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you My name 'The LORD.' And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.

Exo 33:20

But," He said, "you cannot see my face, for man shall not see Me and live."

Exo 33:21

And the LORD said, "Behold, there is a place by Me where you shall stand on the rock,

Exo 33:22

and while My glory passes by I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with My hand until I have passed by.

Exo 33:23

Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back, but My face shall not be seen."

Job 42:12

And the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning. And he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 yoke of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys.

Job 42:13

He had also seven sons and three daughters.

Job 42:14

And he called the name of the first daughter Jemimah, and the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-happuch.

Job 42:15

And in all the land there were no women so beautiful as Job's daughters. And their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.

And after this Job lived 140 years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, four generations.

Isa 52:12

For you shall not go out in haste, and you shall not go in flight, for the LORD will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

Isa 52:13

Behold, My Servant shall act wisely; He shall be high and lifted up, and shall be exalted.

Isa 52:14

As many were astonished at you-- His appearance was so marred, beyond human semblance, and His form beyond that of the children of mankind--

Isa 52:15

so shall He sprinkle many nations; kings shall shut their mouths because of Him; for that which has not been told them they see, and that which they have not heard they understand.

Isa 53:1

Who has believed what they heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

Isa 53:2

For He grew up before Him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; He had no form or majesty that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we should desire Him.

Isa 53:3

He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as One from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.

Isa 53:4

Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.

Isa 53:5

But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His stripes we are healed.

Isa 53:6

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Isa 53:7

He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so He opened not his mouth.

Isa 53:8

By oppression and judgment He was taken away; and as for His generation, who considered that He was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of My people?

Isa 53:9

And they made His grave with the wicked and with a rich man in His death, although He had done no violence, and there was no deceit in His mouth.

Isa 53:10

Yet it was the will of the LORD to crush Him; He has put Him to grief; when His soul makes an offering for sin, He shall see His offspring; He shall prolong his days; the will of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.

Isa 53:11

Out of the anguish of His soul He shall see and be satisfied; by His knowledge shall the Righteous One, My Servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and He shall bear their iniquities.

Isa 53:12

Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the many, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet He bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.

Isa 54:1

"Sing, O barren one, who did not bear; break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not been in labour! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of her who is married," says the LORD.

A reading from The First Epistle [letter] of Saint Paul the Apostle to Corinthians 1:18-2:2

1Co 1:18

For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the Power of God.

1Co 1:19

For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart."

1Co 1:20

Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

1Co 1:21

For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.

1Co 1:22

For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom,

1Co 1:23

but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles,

1Co 1:24

but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

1Co 1:25

For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

1Co 1:26

For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.

1Co 1:27

But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;

1Co 1:28

God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,

1Co 1:29

so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.

1Co 1:30

He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom and our righteousness and sanctification and redemption.

1Co 1:31

Therefore, as it is written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."

1Co 2:1

And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom.

1Co 2:2

For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

A reading of Holy Scripture from The Gospel of Saint Matthew the Apostle 27:1-38

Mat 27:1

When morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death.

Mat 27:2

And they bound him and led him away and delivered him over to Pilate the governor.

Mat 27:3

Then when Judas, His betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders,

Mat 27:4

saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." They said, "What is that to us? See to it yourself."

Mat 27:5

And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged himself.

Mat 27:6

But the chief priests, taking the pieces of silver, said, "It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is blood money."

Mat 27:7

So they took counsel and bought with them the potter's field as a burial place for strangers.

Mat 27:8

Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day.

Mat 27:9

Then was fulfilled what had been spoken by the prophet Jeremiah, saying, "And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of Him on Whom a price had been set by some of the sons of Israel,

Mat 27:10

and they gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord directed me."

Mat 27:11

Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked Him, "Are You the King of the Jews?" Jesus said, "You have said so.

Mat 27:12

But when He was accused by the chief priests and elders, He gave no answer.

Mat 27:13

Then Pilate said to Him, "Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?"

Mat 27:14

But He gave him no answer, not even to a single charge, so that the governor was greatly amazed.

Mat 27:15

Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release for the crowd any one prisoner whom they wanted.

Mat 27:16

And they had then a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.

Mat 27:17

So when they had gathered, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release for you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?"

Mat 27:18

For he knew that it was out of envy that they had delivered Him up.

Mat 27:19

Besides, while he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent word to him, "Have nothing to do with that Righteous Man, for I have suffered much because of Him today in a dream."

Mat 27:20

Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus.

Mat 27:21

The governor again said to them, "Which of the two do you want me to release for you?" And they said, "Barabbas."

Mat 27:22

Pilate said to them, "Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?" They all said, "Let Him be crucified!"

Mat 27:23

And he said, "Why, what evil has He done?" But they shouted all the more, "Let Him be crucified!"

Mat 27:24

So when Pilate saw that he was gaining nothing, but rather that a riot was beginning, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of This Man's blood; see to it yourselves."

Mat 27:25

And all the people answered, "His blood be on us and on our children!"

Mat 27:26

Then he released for them Barabbas, and having scourged Jesus, delivered Him to be crucified.

Mat 27:27

Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the governor's headquarters, and they gathered the whole battalion before Him.

Mat 27:28

And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him,

Mat 27:29

and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head and put a reed in His right hand. And kneeling before Him, they mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!"

Mat 27:30

And they spit on Him and took the reed and struck Him on the head.

Mat 27:31

And when they had mocked Him, they stripped Him of the robe and put His own clothes on Him and led Him away to crucify Him

Mat 27:32

As they went out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. They compelled this man to carry His cross.

Mat 27:33

And when they came to a place called Golgotha (which means Place of a Skull),

Mat 27:34

they offered Him wine to drink, mixed with gall, but when He tasted it, He would not drink it.

Mat 27:35

And when they had crucified Him, they divided His garments among them by casting lots.

Mat 27:36

Then they sat down and kept watch over Him there.

Mat 27:37

And over His head they put the charge against Him, which read, "This is Jesus, the King of the Jews."

Mat 27:38

Then two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and one on the left.

A reading of Holy Scripture from The Gospel of Saint Matthew the Apostle 27:39-54

Mat 27:39

And those who passed by derided Him, wagging their heads

Mat 27:40

and saying, "You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross."

So also the chief priests, with the scribes and elders, mocked Him, saying,

Mat 27:42

"He saved others; He cannot save himself. He is the King of Israel; let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in Him.

Mat 27:43

He trusts in God; let God deliver Him now, if He desires Him. For He said, 'I am the Son of God.'"

Mat 27:44

And the robbers who were crucified with Him also reviled Him in the same way.

Mat 27:45

Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.

Mat 27:46

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" that is, "My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?"

Mat 27:47

And some of the bystanders, hearing it, said, "This man is calling Elijah."

Mat 27:48

And one of them at once ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine, and put it on a reed and gave it to Him to drink.

Mat 27:49

But the others said, "Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to save Him."

Mat 27:50

And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up His spirit.

Mat 27:51

And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.

Mat 27:52

The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised,

Mat 27:53

and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

Mat 27:54

When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, "Truly this was the Son of God!"

Вих 33:11

І сказав Мойсей до Господа: Дивися, Ти говориш мені: Випровади цей народ, а Ти не дав мені знати, кого зо мною пошлеш. А Ти сказав був: Я знаю тебе на ім'я, а також знайшов ти милість в очах Моїх.

Вих 33:13

Тож тепер, коли знайшов я милість в очах Твоїх, об'яви ж мені дорогу Свою, і я пізнаю, як знайти милість в очах Твоїх. І побач, бо цей люд то народ Твій.

Вих 33:14

А Він відказав: Сам Я піду, і введу тебе до відпочинку.

І сказав він до Нього: Коли сам Ти не підеш, то не виводь нас ізвідси.

Бож чим тоді пізнається, що знайшов милість в очах Твоїх я та народ Твій? Чи ж не тим, що Ти підеш із нами? І будемо вирізнені я та народ Твій від кожного народу, що на поверхні землі.

Вих 33:17

І промовив Господь до Мойсея: Також цю річ, про яку говорив ти, зроблю, бо ти знайшов милість в очах Моїх, і Я знаю на ім'я тебе.

Вих 33:18

А він відказав: Покажи мені славу Свою!

Вих 33:19

І Він промовив: Я переведу все добро Своє перед тобою, і покличу Господнім Ім'ям перед тобою. І Я помилую, до кого милостивий, і змилосерджуся, до кого милосердний.

Вих 33:20

І Він промовив: Ти не зможеш побачити лиця Мого, бо людина не може побачити Мене і жити.

Вих 33:21

І промовив Господь: Ось місце при Мені, і ти станеш на скелі.

Вих 33:22

І станеться, коли буде переходити слава Моя, то Я вміщу Тебе в щілині скелі, і закрию тебе рукою Своєю, аж поки Я перейду.

А здійму руку Свою, і ти побачиш Мене ззаду, а обличчя Моє не буде видиме.

Іс 53:1

Хто нашій спасенній тій звістці повірив, і над ким відкривалось рамено Господнє?

Іс 53:2

Бо Він виріс перед Ним, мов галузка, і мов корінь з сухої землі, не мав Він принади й не мав пишноти; і ми Його бачили, та краси не було, щоб Його пожадати!

Іс 53:3

Він погорджений був, Його люди покинули, страдник, знайомий з хоробами, і від Якого обличчя ховали, погорджений, і ми не цінували Його...

Іс 53:4

Направду ж Він немочі наші узяв і наші болі поніс, а ми уважали Його за пораненого, ніби Бог Його вдарив поразами й мучив...

А Він був ранений за наші гріхи, за наші провини Він мучений був, кара на Ньому була за наш мир, Його ж ранами нас уздоровлено!

Іс 53:6

Усі ми блудили, немов ті овечки, розпорошились кожен на власну дорогу, і на Нього Господь поклав гріх усіх нас!

Іс 53:7

Він гноблений був та понижуваний, але уст Своїх не відкривав. Як ягня був проваджений Він на заколення, й як овечка перед стрижіями своїми мовчить, так і Він не відкривав Своїх уст...

Іс 53:8

Від утиску й суду Він забраний був, і хто збагне Його рід? Бо з краю живих Він відірваний був, за провини Мого народу на смерть Його дано...

Іс 53:9

І з злочинцями визначили Йому гроба Його, та Його поховали в багатого, хоч провини Він не учинив, і не було в Його устах омани...

Іс 53:10

Та зволив Господь, щоб побити Його, щоб муки завдано Йому. Якщо ж душу Свою покладе Він як жертву за гріх, то побачить насіння, і житиме довгії дні, і замір Господній рукою Його буде мати поводження!

Іс 53:11

Він через муки Своєї душі буде бачити плід, та й насититься. Справедливий, Мій Отрок, оправдає пізнанням Своїм багатьох, і їхні гріхи понесе.

Іс 53:12

Тому то дам уділ Йому між великими, і з потужними буде ділити здобич за те, що на смерть віддав душу Свою, і з злочинцями був порахований, хоч гріх багатьох Сам носив і заступавсь за злочинців!

Іс 54:1

Веселися ж, неплідна, яка не родила, співанням утішайся й радій, що мук породільних не мала, бо в покиненої буде більше синів від синів заміжньої, говорить Господь!

Читання з Першого Послання [листа] св. апостола Павла до Коринтян 1:18-2:2

1Кор 1:18

Бо ж слово про хреста тим, що гинуть, то глупота, а для нас, що спасаємось, Сила Божа!

1Кор 1:19

Бо написано: Я погублю мудрість премудрих, а розум розумних відкину!

1Кор 1:20

Де мудрий? Де книжник? Де дослідувач віку цього? Хіба Бог мудрість світу цього не змінив на глупоту?

1Кор 1:21

Через те ж, що світ мудрістю не зрозумів Бога в мудрості Божій, то Богові вгодно було спасти віруючих через дурість проповіді.

1Кор 1:22

Бо й юдеї жадають ознак, і греки пошукують мудрости,

1Кор 1:23

а ми проповідуємо Христа розп'ятого, для юдеїв згіршення, а для греків безумство,

1Кор 1:24

а для самих покликаних юдеїв та греків Христа, Божу силу та Божую мудрість!

1Кор 1:25

Бо Боже й немудре розумніше воно від людей, а Боже немічне сильніше воно від людей!

1Кор 1:26

Дивіться бо, браття, на ваших покликаних, що небагато-хто мудрі за тілом, небагато-хто сильні, небагато-хто шляхетні.

1Кор 1:27

Але Бог вибрав немудре світу, щоб засоромити мудрих, і немічне світу Бог вибрав, щоб засоромити сильне,

1Кор 1:28

і простих світу, і погорджених, і незначних вибрав Бог, щоб значне знівечити,

1Кор 1:29

так щоб не хвалилося перед Богом жадне тіло.

1Кор 1:30

А з Нього ви в Христі Ісусі, що став нам мудрістю від Бога, праведністю ж, і освяченням, і відкупленням,

щоб було, як написано: Хто хвалиться, нехай хвалиться Господом!

Мт 27:1

А коли настав ранок, усі первосвященики й старші народу зібрали нараду супроти Ісуса, щоб Йому заподіяти смерть.

Мт 27:2

І, зв'язавши Його, повели, та й Понтію Пилату намісникові віддали.

Мт 27:3

Тоді Юда, що видав Його, як побачив, що Його засудили, розкаявся, і вернув тридцять срібняків первосвященикам і старшим,

Мт 27:4

та й сказав: Я згрішив, невинну кров видавши. Вони ж відказали: А нам що до того? Дивись собі сам...

Мт 27:5

І, кинувши в храм срібняки, відійшов, а потому пішов, та й повісився...

Мт 27:6

А первосвященики, як взяли срібняки, то сказали: Цього не годиться покласти до сховку церковного, це ж бо заплата за кров.

Мт 27:7

А порадившись, купили на них поле ганчарське, щоб мандрівників ховати,

Мт 27:8

чому й зветься те поле полем крови аж до сьогодні.

Мт 27:9

Тоді справдилось те, що сказав був пророк Єремія, промовляючи: І взяли вони тридцять срібняків, заплату Оціненого, що Його оцінили сини Ізраїлеві,

Мт 27:10

і дали їх за поле ганчарське, як Господь наказав був мені.

Мт 27:11

Ісус же став перед намісником. І намісник Його запитав і сказав: Чи Ти Цар Юдейський? Ісус же йому відказав: Ти кажеш.

Мт 27:12

Коли ж первосвященики й старші Його винуватили, Він нічого на те не відказував.

Мт 27:13

Тоді каже до Нього Пилат: Чи не чуєш, як багато на Тебе свідкують?

Мт 27:14

А Він ні на одне слово йому не відказував, так що намісник був дуже здивований.

Мт 27:15

Мав же намісник звичай відпускати на свято народові в'язня одного, котрого хотіли вони.

Мт 27:16

Був тоді в'язень відомий, що звався Варавва.

Мт 27:17

І, як зібрались вони, то сказав їм Пилат: Котрого бажаєте, щоб я вам відпустив: Варавву, чи Ісуса, що зветься Христос?

Мт 27:18

Бо він знав, що Його через заздрощі видали.

Мт 27:19

Коли ж він сидів на суддевім сидінні, його дружина прислала сказати йому: Нічого не май з отим Праведником, бо сьогодні вві сні я багато терпіла з-за Нього...

Мт 27:20

А первосвященики й старші попідмовляли народ, щоб просити за Варавву, а Ісусові смерть заподіяти.

Мт 27:21

Намісник тоді відповів і сказав їм: Котрого ж із двох ви бажаєте, щоб я вам відпустив? Вони ж відказали: Варавву.

Мт 27:22

Пилат каже до них: А що ж маю зробити з Ісусом, що зветься Христос? Усі закричали: Нехай розп'ятий буде!...

Мт 27:23

А намісник спитав: Яке ж зло Він зробив? Вони ж зачали ще сильніше кричати й казати: Нехай розп'ятий буде!

Мт 27:24

І, як побачив Пилат, що нічого не вдіє, а неспокій ще більший стається, набрав він води, та й перед народом умив свої руки й сказав: Я невинний у крові Його! Самі ви побачите...

Мт 27:25

А ввесь народ відповів і сказав: На нас Його кров і на наших дітей!...

Мт 27:26

Тоді відпустив їм Варавву, а Ісуса, збичувавши, він видав, щоб розп'ятий був.

Мт 27:27

Тоді то намісникові вояки, до преторія взявши Ісуса, зібрали на Нього ввесь відділ.

Мт 27:28

І, роздягнувши Його, багряницю наділи на Нього.

Мт 27:29

І, сплівши з тернини вінка, поклали Йому на голову, а тростину вправицю Його. І, навколішки падаючи перед Ним, сміялися з Нього й казали: Радій, Царю Юдейський!

Мт 27:30

І, плювавши на Нього, хапали тростину, та й по голові Його били...

Мт 27:31

А коли назнущалися з Нього, зняли з Нього плаща, і зодягнули в одежу Його. І повели Його на розп'яття.

А виходячи, стріли одного кірінеянина, Симон на ймення, його змусили нести для Нього хреста.

Мт 27:33

І, прибувши на місце, що зветься Голгофа, цебто сказати Череповище,

Мт 27:34

дали Йому пити вина, із гіркотою змішаного, та, покуштувавши, Він пити не схотів.

Мт 27:35

А розп'явши Його, вони поділили одежу Його, кинувши жереба.

Мт 27:36

І, посідавши, стерегли Його там.

Мт 27:37

І напис провини Його помістили над Його головою: Це Ісус, Цар Юдейський.

Мт 27:38

Тоді розп'ято з Ним двох розбійників: одного праворуч, а одного ліворуч.

Мт 27:39

А хто побіч проходив, Його лихословили та головами своїми хитали,

і казали: Ти, що храма руйнуєш та за три дні будуєш, спаси Самого Себе! Коли Ти Божий Син, то зійди з хреста!

Мт 27:41

Так само ж і первосвященики з книжниками та старшими, насміхаючися, говорили:

Мт 27:42

Він інших спасав, а Самого Себе не може спасти! Коли Цар Він Ізраїлів, нехай зійде тепер із хреста, і ми повіримо Йому!

Мт 27:43

Покладав Він надію на Бога, нехай Той Його тепер визволить, якщо Він угодний Йому. Бо Він говорив: Я Син Божий...

Мт 27:44

Також насміхалися з Нього й розбійники, що з Ним були розп'яті.

Мт 27:45

А від години шостої аж до години дев'ятої темрява сталась по цілій землі!

Мт 27:46

А коло години дев'ятої скрикнув Ісус гучним голосом, кажучи: Елі, Елі, лама савахтані? цебто: Боже Мій, Боже Мій, нащо Мене Ти покинув?...

Дехто ж із тих, що стояли там, це почули й казали, що Він кличе Іллю.

Мт 27:48

А один із них зараз побіг і взяв губку та, оцтом її наповнивши, настромив на тростину й давав Йому пити.

Мт 27:49

Інші казали: Чекай но, побачмо, чи прийде Ілля визволяти Його.

Мт 27:50

А Ісус знову голосом гучним іскрикнув, і духа віддав...

Мт 27:51

І ось завіса у храмі роздерлась надвоє від верху аж додолу, і земля потряслася, і зачали розпадатися скелі,

Мт 27:52

і повідкривались гроби, і повставало багато тіл спочилих святих,

Мт 27:53

а з гробів повиходивши, по Його воскресенні, до міста святого ввійшли, і багатьом із'явились.

Мт 27:54

А сотник та ті, що Ісуса з ним стерегли, як землетруса побачили, і те, що там сталося, налякалися дуже й казали: Він був справді Син Божий!

One of the criminals who were hanged railed at Him, saying, "Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!"

So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who had been crucified with Him.

But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.

But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water.

He who saw it has borne witness--his testimony is true, and he knows that he is telling the truth--that you also may believe.

When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who also was a disciple of Jesus.

He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him.

And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen shroud

and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut in the rock. And he rolled a great stone to the entrance of the tomb and went away.

Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were there, sitting opposite the tomb.

А один із розп'ятих злочинників став зневажати Його й говорити: Чи Ти не Христос? То спаси Себе й нас!

Обізвався ж той другий, і докоряв йому, кажучи: Чи не боїшся ти Бога, коли й сам на те саме засуджений?

Лк 23:41

Але ми справедливо засуджені, і належну заплату за вчинки свої беремо, Цей же жадного зла не вчинив.

Лк 23:42

І сказав до Ісуса: Спогадай мене, Господи, коли прийдеш у Царство Своє!

Лк 23:43

І промовив до нього Ісус: Поправді кажу тобі: ти будеш зо Мною сьогодні в раю!

Ів 19:31

Був же день Приготовлення, тож юдеї, щоб тіла на хресті не зосталися в суботу, був бо Великдень тієї суботи просили Пилата зламати голінки розп'ятим, і зняти.

Ів 19:32

Тож прийшли вояки й поламали голінки першому й другому, що розп'ятий з Ним був.

Ів 19:33

Коли ж підійшли до Ісуса й побачили, що Він уже вмер, то голінок Йому не зламали,

Ів 19:34

та один з вояків списом бока Йому проколов, і зараз витекла звідти кров та вода.

Ів 19:35

І самовидець засвідчив, і правдиве свідоцтво його; і він знає, що правду говорить, щоб повірили й ви.

Ів 19:36

о це сталось тому, щоб збулося Писання: Йому кості ламати не будуть!

Ів 19:37

І знов друге Писання говорить: Дивитися будуть на Того, Кого прокололи.

святого апостола Матвія 27:55-61

Мт 27:55

Було там багато й жінок, що дивилися здалека, і що за Ісусом прийшли з Галілеї, і Йому прислуговували.

Між ними була Марія Магдалина, і Марія, мати Якова й Йосипа, і мати синів Зеведеєвих.

Мт 27:57

А коли настав вечір, то прийшов муж багатий із Ариматеї, на ім'я Йосип, що й сам був навчався в Ісуса.

Мт 27:58

Він прийшов до Пилата й просив тіла Ісусового. Пилат ізвелів тоді видати.

Мт 27:59

І взяв Йосип Ісусове тіло, обгорнув його плащаницею чистою,

Мт 27:60

і поклав його в гробі новому своїм, що був висік у скелі. До дверей гробових привалив він великого каменя, та й відійшов.

Мт 27:61

Була ж там Марія Магдалина та інша Марія, що сиділи насупроти гробу.
